During the MERS outbreak in Korea, one case of asymptomatic or mild MERS-CoV infection was noted. Eighty-two persons were exposed to the case without protection. They were isolated and RT-PCR and serology for MERS were performed. There was no transmission through an asymptomatic MERS case in this study.

배 경 : 혈액투석을 위한 동정맥루 또는 동정맥 인공혈관 이식의 조기폐쇄는 드물지 않으며, 당뇨병, 고혈압, 나이, 성별 및 수술 시 혈액 검사 소견 등이 위험 인자로 알려져 있다. 연구자들은 동정맥루 조기폐쇄에 영향을 미치는 수술 전 위험인자를 분석해 보고자 본 연구를 계획하였다.방 법 : 2000년부터 2004년 6월까지 의료원에서 혈관 접근 수술 후 혈액투석을 받은 111명의 환자, 153개 혈관 접근 중 인공혈관 이식을 제외한 106명, 127개 동정맥루를 대상으로 의무 기록을 이용한 후향적 연구를 하였다. 환자들의 조기폐쇄 발생률을 조사하고, 당뇨병, 심혈관계 질환, 동측 중심정맥 삽관의 과거력, 복용 약물과 혈액 검사 등의 영향인자를 비교, 분석하였다.결 과 : 동정맥루의 조기폐쇄율은 21.3%로 동정맥 인공혈관 이식의 7.7%보다 유의하게 높았다 (p<0.05). 조기폐쇄군에서 수술 시 50세 이상인 경우가 조기폐쇄가 없는 군보다 유의하게 많았으며 (p<0.05), 심혈

신경초에서 기원하는 위 신경초종은 전체 위 종양의 0.2% 정도이고, 양성 위 종양의 4%를 차지한다. 대부분 점막하에서 발생하므로 내시경 조직검사나 영상검사만으로는 위 신경초종을 정확히 진단하기는 어렵다. 57세 남자 환자가 개인의원에서 시행한 상부위장관내시경검사에서 발견된 위 종괴에 대한 자세한 검사를 위해 전원되었다. 상부위장관내시경검사 및 내시경초음파검사에서 위체하부에 3 cm 이상의 점막하 종양이 있었다. 크기가 3 cm 이상으로 크며, 점막하 종양은 내시경 조직검사로 악성 여부를 확인할 수 없어 위부분전제술을 하였고 조직검사에서 종양 세포는 S-100 염색에 양성 반응이었으며 위 신경초종으로 진단하였다. 위 신경초종은 여성에서 더 흔한 것으로 알려져 있으나, 본 증례는 국내에서 처음으로 남성에서 발견한 위 신경초종으로 보고한다.
