About the Lab

Professor Soyoung Kim's research lab focuses on the biological and translational mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, cancer immunosurveillance, and metabolic liver disorders. The lab investigates natural compounds such as curcumin and ginsenosides for their neuroprotective and immunomodulatory effects, particularly in neural progenitor cells and natural killer cell function. Additionally, the lab explores the pathophysiology of implant-related sinusitis and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), emphasizing the role of lipid metabolism in tumor microenvironment remodeling and immune suppression. These studies integrate molecular biology, immunology, and clinical translational research to identify novel therapeutic targets.

대학생의 사회부과적 완벽주의와 분노억압 간의 관계: 자기침묵의 매개효과

본 연구는 서울, 경기 및 경남 소재 5개 대학교에 재학 중인 남자 대학생 199명, 여자 대학생 214명을 대상으로, 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의가 분노억압에 직접적 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 자기침묵을 매개하여 분노억압에 간접적으로 영향을 미친다는 연구모형을 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 각 변인에서 남녀집단 간 차이검증과 상관분석을 실시하였다. 다음으로 사회부과적 완벽주의, 자기침묵, 분노억압 간의 구조적 관계를 확인하였으며, 마지막으로 다집단 분석을 통해 성별에 따른 연구모형의 차이를 검토하였다. 먼저 주요 변인들의 성별 차이검증 결과에 의하면 사회부과적 완벽주의와 분노억압 수준은 남학생보다 여학생에서 유의하게 더 높은 반면, 자기침묵 총점에서는 성차가 존재하지 않았다. 구조방정식 모형을 분석하였을 때, 자기침묵은 사회부과적 완벽주의와 분노억압 사이를 완전매개하는 것으로 확인되었으며 자기침묵과 분노억압 변인 간의 관련성은 남학생보다는 여학생 집단에서 더 강력한 것으로 나타났다

갈조류(미역, 톳, 다시마), 홍조류(김, 꼬시래기) 및 녹조류(파래) 등 식용해조류 6종으로부터 제조한 추출물의 페놀성 화합물 함량과 항산화 활성을 분석하였다. 추출수율은 꼬시래기 분말을 물(pH 8.0)을 용매로 추출하였을 때 가장 높았으며(44.23 %), 페놀성 화합물은 톳을 75 % 에탄올 용액으로 추출하였을 때 가장 높았다(52.82 <TEX>${\mu}g/mg$</TEX>). 25% 에탄올 용액으로 추출한 파래 추출물에서 가장 높은 DPPH 라디칼 소거활성이 나타났으며(19.29 %), superoxide 음이온 소거활성은 다른 해조류 추출물에 비해 물(pH 8.0)로 추출한 톳 추출물(81.20 %)에서 더 높았다. 6종의 식용해조류 추출물에서의 페놀성 화합물의 함량은 항산화 활성과 강하게 상관관계를 보였다(R2=0.852). 종합해 보면, 이러한 결과는 갈조류인 톳이 천연 항산화제 개발을 위한 좋은 원료가 될 수 있음을 의미한다. 해조류 유래 유용성분 추출을 위한 초음파 추출법의 적용성을 검토하였다. 동결건조한 감태 분말로부터 열수(<TEX>$65^{\circ}C$</TEX>), 물(<TEX>$24^{\circ}C$</TEX>), 50% 에탄올 및 100% 에탄올 뿐만 아니라 초음파 추출을 수행하여, 추출물을 제조하였다. 추출물의 페놀성 화합물 함량, DPPH 라디칼 소거 활성 및 tyrosinase 저해 활성을 분석하고, 초음파 추출과 전통적인 추출법의 차이를 비교하였다. 초음파 추출에 의한 감태 추출물의 페놀성 화합물의 함량(142.80 mg/g)은 열수 추출물의 페놀성 화합물 함량(10.03 mg/g)의 약 14배 이상 높았다. 열수 추출물에 비해 초음파 추출물의 DPPH 라디칼 소거 활성은 약 4배, tyrosinase 저해 활성은 약 14배 이상 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히 초음파 추출법에 의한 추출물에서의 페놀성 화합물 함량과 DPPH 라디칼 소거활성 및 페놀성 화합물 함량과 tyrosinase 저
