About the Lab
Professor Sung Hyuk Choi's research lab focuses on translational cardiovascular and neurological research, with a strong emphasis on the pathophysiological roles of trace metals like zinc in neurodegenerative diseases and the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression, particularly in colorectal cancer involving the APC/β-catenin and Hippo signaling pathways. The lab also investigates clinical outcomes in critical cardiovascular interventions, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) use in cardiogenic shock, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusions (CTO).
