About the Lab

Professor Sung-Ryul Kim's research lab focuses on plant molecular genetics and functional genomics, with a strong emphasis on understanding the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying key agronomic traits in rice. The lab investigates RNA editing in organelles, particularly in mitochondria and chloroplasts, and explores the genetic basis of flowering time regulation and yield-related gene networks in both temperate and tropical rice varieties. Utilizing advanced molecular breeding techniques such as marker-assisted selection and next-generation sequencing, the lab aims to enhance rice yield potential and adaptability to diverse environments.

Abstract A series of three-dimensional finite element analyses was conducted to investigate the effects of the embedment depth, the non-homogeneity of clay, and combined loads on the undrained bearing capacities of bucket foundations.
