About the Lab
Professor Sungil Kim's research lab specializes in neuroimaging and brain structure-function relationships, focusing on psychiatric and neurological disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, and schizophrenia. The lab employs advanced neuroimaging techniques—including voxel-based morphometry, fractal analysis of EEG dynamics, and 3D shape modeling of brain structures—to investigate regional brain abnormalities, structural biomarkers, and neural circuitry disruptions. A key emphasis is placed on developing population-specific brain templates and applying quantitative imaging methods to understand the neurobiological underpinnings of mental and neurological diseases.
