About the Lab

Professor Sung-Min Park's research lab focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression and stress response, with a particular emphasis on post-translational modifications of RNA-binding proteins such as HuR and their roles in mRNA stability under stress conditions. The lab also investigates transcriptional regulation of antioxidant defense systems, especially the Nrf2-Keap1 pathway, in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Additionally, the lab contributes to population-based cancer epidemiology in Korea, analyzing clinical trends and treatment outcomes through national databases to improve breast cancer management and patient outcomes.
