Professor Syngjoo Choi's research lab focuses on experimental and behavioral economics, with a strong emphasis on individual decision-making under uncertainty, networked markets, and the experimental evaluation of economic rationality. The lab investigates how people make choices in complex environments—using graphical methods, lab-in-the-field experiments, and network-based models—to understand risk preferences, utility maximization, and market efficiency. By using graphical representations of simple portfolio choice problems, we generate a very rich dataset to study behavior under uncertainty at the level of the individual subject.
