About the Lab
Professor Tae Hwa Kim's research lab focuses on translational oncology and infectious disease immunology, with a strong emphasis on identifying novel molecular drivers in aggressive cancers such as glioblastoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and evaluating the impact of vaccination and chemotherapy strategies in pediatric and high-risk populations. The lab investigates key signaling pathways—such as those involving PRDX4, integrin α6β4, and S100A4—that drive tumor progression, metastasis, and therapy resistance. Additionally, the lab contributes to public health through epidemiological and clinical studies on antibiotic use and cancer treatment outcomes in Korea. These multidisciplinary efforts aim to bridge basic molecular discoveries with clinical applications to improve patient survival and treatment efficacy.
