About the Lab
Professor Won Kyu Choi's research lab specializes in translational biomedical research with a focus on gene delivery systems, vascular malformations, and growth factor biology. The lab develops advanced synthetic nanoparticle platforms for sustained and targeted gene therapy, particularly for challenging targets like the lung, using biodegradable polymers such as poly(β-amino esters). It also investigates the pathophysiology of low-flow vascular malformations, exploring image-guided interventions like MR-guided sclerotherapy, and examines the complex roles of insulin-like growth factor binding proteins (IGFBPs) in development and disease.
