Professor Yong-Sik Park's research lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress in the context of environmental toxicants and metabolic diseases. The lab investigates the protective roles of natural compounds—such as fisetin, melatonin, and eriodictyol—in mitigating cellular damage through the regulation of stress-responsive proteins like heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1).
