Professor Yoon Jae-shin's research lab specializes in architectural and structural design for social equity and cultural heritage, with a strong focus on housing policy, traditional wooden architecture, and smart residential systems. The lab investigates minimum housing standards to improve living quality for underprivileged populations, conducts advanced structural analyses of historic temples using 2D and 3D modeling, and pioneers ubiquitous and flexible apartment design systems integrating well-being and responsive technologies. The lab bridges social responsibility, cultural preservation, and technological innovation in residential architecture.

9세기 초에 건립되었다고 추정되는 영암사지(靈巖寺址) 금당(金堂)의 복원 과정에서, 가구유형(架構類型)을 명확하게 구분하고, 도목수 얼개도식(framework schema)과 3D 디지털 모델링을 통해 가구구조(架構構造)를 구체적으로 도출해 봄으로써 실질적으로 건설 가능한 고대 목조불전의 복원을 연구하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 현재 한국에는 12세기 이전에 건립되어 온전히 남아있는 것으로 추정되는 목조건축 유구가 없다. 그러므로 9세기 초에 건립된 것으로 추정되는 목조불전을 복원하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 본 논문에서는 도목수의 ‘얼개 도식(圖式: schema)’이라는 구상(構想) 도구를 설정하고, 이것에 표현되는 바탕 윤곽선을 이용하여 고대불전의 가구구조를 설득력 있게 추정하고자 했다. 도목수 얼개 도식의 개념을 배경으로 목조 전각의 가구유형과 가구구조의 개념 구분을 시도했다. 한국에서는 고대불전의 목조 가구에 대한 일차자료가 절대적으로 부족하기 때문

The present Gukrakjun in Bulguksa was rebuilt in the late Chosun style of 18th Century on the stone bases of Unified Shilla which had been distributed originally to support the upper wooden structure of a quite different style in 8th Century. 본 논문은 석굴암 건축의 원형에 대한 논쟁이 사실적 이해와는 거리가 먼 석굴암 건축의 신화화와 밀접한 관련이 있음을 인식하고, 과학적 사실에 근거하여 석굴암 건축을 복원하기 위해 마련되었다. 이를 위해 먼저 석굴암 건축의 신화화에 기여한 창건설화, 재발견설화, 대불상시준선(對佛像視準線)의 개념과 담론 등 세 가지 방향에서 그 적극적 의미와 허구성을 분석해보고자 한다. 석굴암의 원형 복원은 석굴암 공간에 대한 과학적 이해를 바탕으로 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 지금까지의 논의와 복원 시도는 과학적 지식이 아닌 상상력에 기반한 것이었다. 따라서 3장에서는 석굴암 석굴의 빛 환경에 대한 과학적 분석을 시도하고 기존의 오류와 사실적 신화 이미지를 비판적으로 검토하여 석굴암 건축에 대한 대중의 공간 인식을 바로잡고 석굴암 건축 공간의 합리적 복원을 제안하고자 한다.
본 논문의 목적은 석불사 석굴의 평면과 벽면 설계를 합리적으로 도출하려는 것이다. 본 연구의 내용은 현재 석굴암의 건축 형태를 분석하고, 석불사 석굴의 준공된 건축 형태를 점검하여, 석불사 석굴의 평면과 벽면 설계를 합리적으로 추론하는 것이다. 석불사 석굴은 ‘정합적 모듈’로 설계되고, ‘모듈 부품’의 정합으로 건식 시공되었다. 그러나 석불사 석굴은 수리공사의 습식 시공으로 일체화됨으로써, 좌우 대칭이 미세하게 일그러진 석굴암으로 재창조되었다. 석불사 석굴의 설계에서 공간 대칭축은 유지되면서 정합적 모듈 설계가 이루어졌다고 가정했다. 『석굴암 수리공사 보고서』에서 임의로 창안한 허구의 ‘대불상시준선(對佛像視準線)’은 공간 대칭축의 설계 원리를 약화시켰다. 불상판석의 폭은 4당척으로 설계되었다. 주실 안상석의 길이 치수를 분석해 보면, 석불사 석굴의 평면 설계는 1/4당척 단위의 그리드에 바탕을 두고 이루어졌다는 합리적 추론이 가능하다. 석불사 석굴을 지배하는 설계 원리는 ‘공간 대칭
