About the Lab

Professor Yoon Jong Hyun's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on aging-related muscle disorders, regenerative medicine, and metabolic regulation. The lab investigates molecular mechanisms underlying sarcopenia, particularly the role of lipid metabolism and stress responses in aged skeletal muscle, while also exploring the therapeutic potential of stem cells and growth factors from sources like Wharton’s jelly. Additionally, the lab contributes to biotechnology innovation through the development of biosensors and tunable laser systems, as well as metabolic engineering for sustainable production of bio-based chemicals. A tunable single-mode laser is obtained by using a weakly coupled cavity structure involved in a coaxially packaged Fabry-Perot laser diode.
