About the Lab
Professor Young-jae Choi's research lab specializes in the development of advanced nanomaterials and biosensors for biomedical applications, with a strong focus on early cancer diagnosis using ultrasensitive, label-free detection methods. The lab integrates nanotechnology, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), and functional nanomaterials—such as gold nanopillars and metal nanoframes—to enable high-sensitivity detection of microRNAs and other biomarkers. Additionally, the lab explores the synthesis and magnetic characterization of complex oxide materials, including double perovskites, for potential applications in spintronics and biomedicine. Lipoma is a very common benign tumor that occurs in areas of adipose tissue and is commonly found on the whole body, although its occurrence in the hand and finger is rare. After CdTe wafers are polished mechanically and chemically, wider, narrower bands are observed at 1.4 and 1.54 eV by photoluminescence (PL), respectively.
