About the Lab
Professor Yujin Kim's research lab focuses on molecular oncology and translational cancer research, with a primary emphasis on understanding the pathogenic mechanisms of aggressive and rare cancers such as triple-negative/basal-like breast cancer, sarcomas, and solitary fibrous tumors. The lab investigates key oncogenic drivers like MET, NAB2-STAT6 fusions, and MDM2/CDK4 amplification to identify novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers. Additionally, the lab explores renal safety in antiviral therapy for chronic viral hepatitis, particularly hepatitis B and C, to improve long-term treatment outcomes. Their work integrates molecular pathology, functional genomics, and clinical correlation to advance precision oncology.
