About the Lab
Professor Yun-Sang Lee's research lab specializes in health services research and translational biomedical science, with a focus on organizational behavior in public sector organizations and the development of innovative cell therapies for cancer. The lab investigates how human resource dynamics, such as voice and loyalty, influence employee retention in public agencies, while also advancing clinical applications of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies, particularly for lymphoid malignancies. A key direction involves optimizing CAR T-cell manufacturing processes and improving therapeutic efficacy through genetic engineering and improved culture techniques. The lab also explores the impact of environmental and genetic factors—such as capsaicin intake and TRPV1 genotypes—on gastrointestinal symptoms in functional dyspepsia, bridging molecular biology with clinical outcomes.

15We assess Hirschman's theory of exit, voice, and loyalty in the context of voluntary exit from organizations in the public workforce. Specifically, we test the effects of loyalty and voice on the likelihood a person states their intention to leave. We assess these relationships using data from the Federal Human Capital Survey.
