About the Lab

Professor Yunhee Park's research lab focuses on translational immunology and molecular mechanisms underlying inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, with a particular emphasis on lung fibrosis, autoimmune liver diseases, and the role of key signaling molecules such as TGF-β1 and metallothionein in tissue injury and protection. The lab investigates host-pathogen interactions, including tuberculosis diagnostics in rheumatic disease patients, and explores natural compounds with anti-tumor and immunomodulatory properties. Using both in vivo models and in vitro cell systems, the lab integrates clinical data with molecular and cellular analyses to identify novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers.

Prior studies have reported the presence of lung fibrosis and enhanced airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) in mice with high-fat-diet (HFD)-induced obesity.
