이 논문은 지난 20년간(2000∼2019) 간행된 한국 현대문학 분야 박사학위 논문 서지 데이터를 기반으로, 그간의 현대문학 연구의 변화를 분석ㆍ평가하고 앞으로의 연구를 전망한 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 RISS와 국회도서관에서 논문의 제목, 목차, 초록, 출판연도, 저자 등의 사항을 크롤링하여 기술적 분석을 시도했다. 또한 한국어 형태소 분석기를 통해 명사를 추출하여 키워드 분석과 시계열 토픽 모델링(Dynamic topic model)을 시도했다. 분석 결과, 2000∼19년 사이 현대문학 분야의 박사학위 논문이 20여 개 주요 대학(특히 수도권) 중심으로 배출되었으며, 2010년대 이후 점차 줄어들고 있다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 한국 현대문학 분야에서 전통적인 작가론ㆍ작품론과 시(인) 연구가 여전히 가장 큰 비중을 차지하고 있었다는 것도 알 수 있었다. 문화론, 비교문학, 페미니즘에 근거한 연구들은 점점 더 높은 비중을 차지해오고 있다고 말할 수는 있다. 이상과 같은
