Dong-Hyun Kim 교수의 연구실은 장내 미생물군과 장-뇌 축을 중심으로 한 만성질환의 기전을 규명하고 있습니다. 비만, 염증, 우울증·불안 장애 등에 영향을 주는 장내 미생물의 대사 기능과 그 기전을 분석하며, 특히 생강, 인삼 등 천연물의 장내 미생물에 의한 대사 전환과 그 생리적 영향을 집중적으로 연구하고 있습니다. 프로바이오틱스, 천연성분의 대사 산물이 면역·신경·대사 경로에 미치는 영향을 기초부터 임상적 적용까지 연결하는 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.
