Professor Han-Byoel Lee's research lab focuses on advancing personalized breast cancer care through integrative oncology, with a strong emphasis on age-specific tumor biology, molecular subtypes, and treatment outcomes. The lab investigates the unique clinical behavior of young-onset breast cancer, optimal local therapy strategies including radiotherapy and margin assessment, and the impact of adjuvant hormonal therapies on both cancer control and cardiovascular safety. Using large-scale health data and genomic profiling techniques such as whole-exome sequencing from fine-needle aspirates, the lab aims to tailor surveillance and treatment based on biological subtypes and patient-specific risk profiles.

Our results, based on the NHID, supports the protective effect of tamoxifen against CVE in Korean breast cancer patients aged 55 and older that is not seen with AIs.
