미타 히로아키 교수의 연구실은 환자 대상의 의사소통, 특히 암 진단 및 예후 통보 방식에 대한 환자의 선호도와 그 영향을 중심으로 한 의료윤리 및 공공보건 분야의 연구를 전개하고 있습니다. 또한 코로나19 패an드믹 기간 동안 감염자와 밀접한 관계에 있는 가족·친구들의 정서적 고통과 심리적 불안을 분석하여, 감염자 주변 인재를 위한 정서적 지원 체계 구축의 필요성을 제기하고 있습니다. 이는 환자 중심의 의료와 정서적 회복을 동시에 고려한 종합적 접근을 추구하는 연구입니다.

Telling people that they have cancer has a great impact on their lives, so many doctors are concerned about how they should inform patients about a cancer diagnosis and its prognosis.
