We reported satisfactory coronal and sagittal correction with posterior-only pedicle screw fixation without higher complication rate in CP patients. Further long-term study is recommended to evaluate the success of pedicle screw in this population.

There was a significant correlation between the sagittal pelvic parameters and adult scoliosis in elderly volunteers. There was a significant difference in the pelvic incidence between the normal, low-grade, high-grade adult scoliosis groups. The pelvic tilting and S1 overhang of the high-grade or low-grade groups were significantly higher than the normal group. These 3 parameters were also associated with the magnitude of curvature.
Posterior tangent method should be used for the global and segmental angle analysis for the LL in cases with spinal instability because of (a) higher correlation coefficient for segmental angle measurements; (b) lower SEM at the instability level than the centroid method despite similar correlation coefficients; and (c) similar to the engineering analysis.
Risser's staging by plain radiography is reliable but not accurate. Variations in the iliac apophysis ossification and misinterpretation of apophysis fusion are the main sources of error.
Parallel distraction of approximately 3.6% of the thoracolumbar length after global osteotomy resulted in spinal cord injury and histological evidence of spinal cord damage. The pattern of recovery from the spinal cord injury after release of the distraction was consistent with the degree of axonal damage. Axotomy was observed in animals that exhibited no recovery on TES-MEP, and only hemorrhagic changes in the white matter were observed in animals that exhibited incomplete recovery.
Percutaneous thoracoplasty-only procedure gives significant rib humps correction and satisfactory clinical outcome. However, progression of the curve was observed after surgery. This suggests that the convex ribs function as a buttress for curve progression.
From our study, we conclude that a large number of curves can be treated with bracing; however, when we notice drooping of the convex apical rib along with RVAD, the curve will likely progress.
