Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has recently come to the forefront as an exceptionally powerful and promising method for the treatment of cancer. Existing photosensitizers are predominantly engineered to target diverse biomolecules, including proteins, DNA, lipids, and carbohydrates, and have proven to greatly enhance the efficacy or specificity of PDT. However, it is noteworthy that there exists a conspicuous scarcity of photosensitizers specifically designed to target RNAs. Recognizing the crucial
Abstract The development of efficient drug delivery systems is essential for improving the efficacy and safety of cancer drugs, particularly for aggressive and difficult‐to‐treat cancers. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are emerging as innovative porous nanomaterials in drug delivery systems (DDS), due to their unique properties, including the metal‐free organic skeleton, predetermined structures and pore geometries, high porosity, large surface area, facile surface modification potential, an

In this article, we propose a simple, reliable, and rapid serial timing acquisition algorithm for hybrid direct-sequence and fast frequency-hopping packet radio communication systems. The proposed algorithm is designed in both the frequency domain of frequency hopping and the pseudonoise code domain of direct sequence. We provide the performance analysis for our proposed algorithm and confirm its exactness by simulation. Compared with the conventional serial search algorithm, the proposed algori
An indicator displacement assay, namely polymeric PNPY-n/UD consisting of a cationic polynorbornene backbone with pyridinium functional groups (PNPY-1,2,3) and an anionic uranine dye (UD) as an indicator, has been developed for highly sensitive "turn-on" fluorescence sensing of ATP. While PNPY-1/UD itself is non-emissive, a bright green fluorescence signal was observed in the presence of ATP [<i>K</i>a = 2.17 × 105 M-1, LOD = 5.7 nM]. The potential of a highly ph
Gold nanorods (AuNRs) have been considered highly compelling materials for early cancer diagnosis and have aroused a burgeoning fascination among the biomedical sectors. By leveraging the versatile tunable optical properties of AuNRs, herein, we have developed a novel tumor-targeted dual-modal nanoprobe (FFA) that exhibits excellent bioluminescence and photoacoustic imaging performance for early tumor diagnosis. FFA has been synthesized by anchoring the recombinant bioluminescent firefly lucifer
An AIE-based fluorescent probe was designed to evaluate peroxynitrite levels in complex biological samples. The newly synthesized hydrazone-conjugated probe fluoresces strongly in the presence of peroxynitrite. Clinically, the peroxynitrite levels can be measured in human serum and cellular mitochondria with an LOD of 6.5 nM by fluorescence imaging <i>in vitro</i>.
COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2, has resulted in serious economic and health burdens. Current treatments remain inadequate to extinguish the epidemic, and efficient therapeutic approaches for COVID-19 are urgently being sought. Interestingly, accumulating evidence suggests that microenvironmental disorder plays an important role in the progression of COVID-19 in patients. In addition, recent advances in nanomaterial technologies provide promising opportunities for alleviating the altered homeosta
We propose a new real-time rate-distortion (R-D) optimized dynamic frame-skipping (DFS) transcoder for low bit rate video transmission. The proposed transcoder can adjust the number of skipped frames according to the target frame rate as well as the channel rate. Experimental results indicate that the proposed R-D optimized transcoder can not only perform frame-skipping effectively but also improve visual quality in the low bit rate video transcoding.
Background and Objectives:There is little literature about voice surgery for females with androphonia and male-female these patients. Subjects and Method:From May 2001 to January 2007, 3 patients were found with thyroid cartilage and vocal cord reduction. We checked their preoperative and postoperative voice recordings, voice dynamic data and patients subjective satisfaction with their postoperative voice. The two patients were female with androphonia and the remaining one patient was a male to
