Professor Jeong-Yeon Kim's research lab specializes in the development of innovative biomedical technologies and mobile learning systems. The lab focuses on advancing noninvasive neuromodulation using ultrasound, particularly through the design of miniaturized, implantable transducers for chronic, closed-loop studies in freely moving animals. Concurrently, the lab investigates human-centered design principles for mobile video-based education, aiming to enhance readability, visibility, and interactivity in mobile learning environments through AI-driven content adaptation. The integration of biomedical engineering and educational technology defines the lab’s interdisciplinary approach to improving both neurological treatment and digital learning experiences.

Our results demonstrate the ability of the dual-crossed transducer system to target highly specific regions of mice brains using ultrasound stimulation. The proposed system is a valuable tool to study the complex neurological circuitry of the brain noninvasively.

Most video-based learning content is designed for desktops without considering mobile environments. We (1) investigate the gap between mobile learners’ challenges and video engineers’ considerations using mixed methods and (2) provide design guidelines for creating mobile-friendly MOOC videos. The effects of varying calcination temperature, K content, and the number of calcination steps in the dielectric performance of KCa2Nb3O10 synthesized via solid-state reaction are investigated. Adding an extra calcination step at 500°C followed by another calcination at 1100°C suppressed the formation of secondary phases while maximizing the relative density (95%) and the average grain area (2.12 μm2). 기존의 해상용 레이더는 원거리 탐지 목적의 고출력 송신을 할 수 있는 펄스 레이더로써, 장착 및 유지비용에 대한 부담으로 대부분 중대형 선박에서 사용되고 있다. 근거리탐지로 충돌 회피가 가능한 소형선박에 기존의 펄스레이더 대신 저전력으로 운용가능하며 분해능이 높은 FMCW방식의 레이더를 적용하고자 한다. FMCW방식의 송수신 신호를 이론적으로 분석하고, 실제 FMCW레이더 구현시 적용 가능한 신호처리 설계 및 모의실험을 수행하여 거리 및 속도를 검출하였다. The effects of plasma pretreatment on the properties of Ga-doped ZnO films on PET substrate were studied. GZO films were fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering process.
