Professor Jung Won Lee's research lab focuses on gastrointestinal diseases, particularly *Helicobacter pylori* eradication and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The lab investigates antibiotic resistance mechanisms in *H. pylori*, evaluates novel therapeutic strategies such as sequential therapy and probiotics, and explores small molecular agents targeting inflammatory pathways like NF-κB for IBD treatment. The research integrates clinical microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and preclinical disease modeling to develop effective, targeted therapies.

The increased primary and secondary antibiotic resistance of H. pylori in Korea is ongoing, and it will become a significant limitation for effective eradication of H. pylori in the future.
