Professor Seon-Hee Kim's research lab specializes in plant evolutionary biology, with a focus on the phylogenetics, population genetics, and plastome evolution of seed plants, particularly in the context of biogeography and adaptation. The lab investigates the genetic and genomic mechanisms underlying key evolutionary innovations such as thermogenesis in *Symplocarpus* and reticulate evolution in *Prunus* and *Dendroseris*. Using next-generation sequencing and comparative genomics, the lab explores how historical climate changes, such as Quaternary glaciations, have shaped species diversification and population structure in temperate and island ecosystems. Their work integrates molecular systematics with ecological and morphological data to understand evolutionary processes in endemic and threatened plant taxa.

We have demonstrated previously that local, adenoviral-mediated gene transfer of viral IL-10 to a single joint of rabbits and mice with experimental arthritis can suppress disease in both the treated and untreated contralateral joints. We treated 52 patients with impingement of the anterolateral soft tissues of the ankle by arthroscopic debridement. All had a history of single or multiple inversion injuries, without instability. One half had negative stress radiographs (stable group), while the others were positive (unstable group). Their mean age was 31 years and there were 35 men and 17 women. The African swine fever virus (ASFV) was first detected in wild boar in the Demilitarized Zone, a bordered area between South and North Korea, on 2 October 2019. Phylogenetic analyses of ASFV genes encoding p72 and CD2v indicated that the causative strain belongs to genotype II and serogroup 8, respectively, and contained additional tandem repeat sequences between the I73R and the I329L protein genes.
