Professor Tomohiro Ishii's research lab specializes in molecular and clinical endocrinology, with a focus on adrenal and steroidogenic disorders, autoimmune polyendocrinopathies, and gene regulation in immune and metabolic diseases. The lab investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying congenital adrenal hyperplasia, autoimmune regulator (AIRE) gene mutations in APECED, and the stability of housekeeping genes in immune cells such as alveolar macrophages. The stability of housekeeping genes is critical when performing gene expression studies.
