Characterization of Performance of a Mobile MIMO Antenna in Free Space
Won‐Woo Lee, Byung-Ho Rhee
SJR Q1IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters

This letter presents an antenna design method for a dual antenna with high isolation for mobile stations (MSs) and includes a verification method for improving the correlation performance of an MS that uses a proposed multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna by using MIMO over-the-air (OTA) channel models. The large-scale parameters for the MIMO OTA channel models are important because they determine the fixed geometrical parameters to be used for channel impulse response realization. The c

QoS based provisioning vertical handover between IEEE 802.11 and 802.16
Min Jong Kim, Sang Woo Son, Byung Ho Rhee

Wireless networking is becoming a popular and important way to provide global information access to users on the move. Current technologies are different in their characteristics such as bandwidths, latencies, frequencies and media access methods. Most existing wireless network technologies can be divided into two categories: those that provide a low-bandwidth service over a wide area and those that provide a high bandwidth service over a narrow area. Therefore, we propose an effective QoS based

BAYESIAN GAME-THEORETIC APPROACH BASED ON 802.11p MAC PROTOCOL TO ALLEVIATE BEACON COLLISION UNDER URBAN VANETs
Y. H. KWON, 이병호
International Journal of Automotive Technology

Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) facilitate the broadcasting of status information among vehicles. In the IEEE 802.11p/WAVE vehicle network environment, the strict periodic beacon broadcasting of safety messages requires status advertisement to assist drivers in maintaining safety. The beacon broadcasting is required for real-time communication, and for avoiding the degradation of communication channels in high vehicular density situations. However, a periodic safety beacon in the IEEE 802.11p

BIM and its quantity take-off widely apply to the construction projects and LCCO2 Assessment using the BIM’s quantity take-off function can be tried recently. Because BIM modeling programs such as Revit and ArchiCAD do not provide adequate library for LCCO2 Assessment, quantity take-off data should be conversed and applied to Carbon Emission Coefficient using Excel program or manual work. Therefore, the purpose of this research is 1) to propose the Unit Conversion Systems for Carbon Emission Coe

Traffic classification seeks to assign packet flows to an appropriate quality of service (QoS) class based on flow statistics without the need to examine packet payloads. Classification proceeds in two steps. Classification rules are first built by analyzing traffic traces, and then the classification rules are evaluated using test data. In this paper, we use self-organizing map and K-means clustering as unsupervised machine learning methods to identify the inherent classes in traffic traces. Th

YongHo Kwon, Byung Ho Rhee
SJR Q4The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information SciencesOA

A Bayesian game-theoretic approach for MAC protocol to alleviate beacon collision under IEEE 802.11p WAVE vehicular network
Yong Ho Kwon, Byung Ho Rhee

In the IEEE 802.11p vehicular network, the periodic beacon broadcasting of safety messages requires status advertisement to assist drivers in maintaining safety. In high vehicular density situations, the channel becomes overloaded, thereby increasing the probability of beacon collision that increases the delay. In this paper, we have considered game theoretic models of wireless medium access control to avoid beacon collision where each transmitter makes individual decisions regarding their power
