About the Lab
Professor Changwook Kim's research lab focuses on aging-related health disparities, particularly in the Korean elderly population. The lab investigates the interplay between metabolic syndrome, vitamin D deficiency, and cognitive function, as well as risk factors for infections like *Acinetobacter baumannii* bacteraemia in older adults. With a strong emphasis on community-based cohort studies such as the Korean Urban Rural Elderly (KURE) study, the lab explores multidisciplinary aspects of geriatric health, including physical performance, biomarkers, and social determinants of aging. The research aims to inform preventive and clinical strategies for age-related diseases in diverse urban and rural settings.
