About the Lab
Professor Choi Jae-wook's research lab focuses on population health, epidemiology, and public health interventions with a strong emphasis on environmental and behavioral factors influencing disease development. The lab investigates the health impacts of artificial light at night, respiratory diseases such as MERS and COVID-19, and childhood asthma, particularly in relation to genetic, socioeconomic, and environmental determinants. Research also extends to health workforce distribution and health system challenges in low-resource settings, such as Cameroon, highlighting health equity and policy-relevant outcomes.
