Professor Chong Won Choi's research lab specializes in dermatological disorders with a focus on pigmentary diseases, inflammatory skin conditions, and the immunological and metabolic mechanisms underlying common dermatoses. The lab investigates the safety and efficacy of phototherapies such as NBUVB and Q-switched lasers in treating vitiligo and nevus of Ota, while also exploring the role of free fatty acids in sebaceous gland inflammation and acne pathogenesis. We found that the rotational approaches using cyclosporine and methotrexate reduced the possibility of the development of nephrotoxicity.
