About the Lab

Professor Danil Kim's research lab focuses on sustainable bioresource utilization and One Health approaches in agricultural and environmental systems. Key research directions include lignin valorization using advanced nanomaterials for biofuel and biochemical production, improving ruminant feeding systems to reduce methane emissions, and developing non-invasive biomarkers for early detection of bovine diseases such as Johne’s disease. The lab also investigates host-microbe interactions, particularly in cattle, with an emphasis on antimicrobial resistance, pathogen virulence, and bone metabolism as indicators of animal health and productivity.
