Professor Dong-Hoon Lee's research spans materials science and biomedical engineering, with a focus on developing high-performance aluminum alloys for structural applications through microalloying and heat treatment optimization. His work also extends to marine microbiology, particularly the study of chemosynthetic bacteria in extreme environments such as deep-sea mud volcanoes. In clinical research, he investigates laryngeal disorders and rare bone tumors, emphasizing diagnostic imaging and surgical outcomes. 15The effects of Mn dispersoids on the enhancement of mechanical properties in Al–Mg–Si(–Mn) alloys have been studied to develop a new high Mn alloy which does not need an aging heat treatment after a shaping process (i.e. extrusion process). Eleven patients with arytenoid dislocation were identified. The causes of arytenoid dislocation were intubation (n = 9) and blunt trauma (n = 2). All cases of arytenoid dislocations were treated by closed reduction. There were no major complications resulting from surgical intervention.
