About the Lab

Professor Duk-young Min's research lab focuses on parasitic helminths and protozoan infections, particularly in Southeast Asia, with a strong emphasis on the epidemiology, immunology, and host-parasite interactions of trematodes such as *Opisthorchis viverrini* and *Haplorchis* spp. The lab investigates the molecular mechanisms of parasite-induced host cell death, neutrophil and eosinophil responses, and the pathophysiology of intestinal and liver fluke infections. Their work combines clinical parasitology, immunology, and parasitology to understand disease transmission, host immune evasion, and potential therapeutic interventions in endemic regions like Laos.
