OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to investigate the association among adiposity, insulin resistance, and inflammatory markers [high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin (IL)-6, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha] and adiponectin and to study the effects of exercise training on adiposity, insulin resistance, and inflammatory markers among obese male Korean adolescents. RESEARCH METHODS AND PROCEDURES: Twenty-six obese and 14 lean age-matched male adolescents were stud

These suggest higher self-esteem is connected to more positive identification of one's usual expressions and others' usual expressions toward oneself. There is a close relationship among low self-esteem, suppressing positive emotions, decreased psychological adjustment, and increased negative emotions.

The neural influence of autobiographical memory related to the parent-child relationship on psychological health in adulthood
Eunseong Kim, Hesun Erin Kim, Jae‐Jin Kim
SJR Q1PLoS ONEOA

The recollection of childhood memories is affected by the subjects involved, such as father and mother, and by the context. This study aimed to clarify the neural influence of autobiographical memory related to the parent-child relationship on psychological health in adulthood. Twenty-nine healthy volunteers participated in a functional magnetic resonance imaging experiment using a childhood memory recollection task, in which they appraised the emotion a parent would have provided in a given sit

Amorphous dithenylcyclopentadienone-carbazole copolymer for organic thin-film transistors

Journal of Materials Chemistry

We developed a new high performance amorphous donor–acceptor conjugated copolymer consisting of a dithienylcylclopentadienone subunit as an electron acceptor and carbazole derivative as an electron donor. X-Ray diffraction analysis shows no scattering patterns, indicating that a disordered amorphous solid is formed. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) images show an amorphous surface mophology regardless of the annealing temperature. A high on/off current ratio of approximately 106 and high field effe

SJR Q2Journal of Craniofacial SurgeryOA

Cervical and facial subcutaneous emphysema is mainly caused by maxillofacial trauma or head and neck surgery. There are only 2 cases of subcutaneous emphysema after septorhinoplasty in the English literature. We report a case of subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum after a septorhinoplasty.A healthy 35-year-old man with nasal obstruction and dissatisfaction with the shape of his nose was referred to our outpatient clinic. The patient had a septorhinoplasty including bilateral medial and

Temperature-Dependent Electrical Characteristics of Silicon Biristor
Eunseong Kim, Doohyeok Lim
SJR Q2MicromachinesOA

In this study, we investigate the temperature-dependent electrical characteristics of bistable silicon resistors (biristors) at temperatures ranging from 275 to 400 K. The proposed biristor exhibits low latch voltages owing to the surface accumulation layer transistor concept. Moreover, the biristor was abruptly turned on and off by positive and negative feedback phenomena, respectively. As the temperature increased from 275 to 400 K, the latch-up voltage decreased from 2.131 to 1.696 V, while t
