미국의 해외주둔 미군 재배치 (GPR)는 미국의 세계전략의 변화 속에서 파악하여야 한다. 미국의 세계전략은 냉전 종식 이후 미국을 정점으로 하는 단극체제와 연관되어 변화하였는데, 단극체제로의 전환기를 관리하였던 클린턴 행정부에서는 특히 구 사회주의 국가의 체제전환을 순조롭게 관리하기 위하여 구 사회주의권의 인접지역에 고정군을 두는 이른바 面의 전략을 구사하였고. 단극체제가 확립된 부시행정부에서는 단극체제 내부의 여기저기서 발생하는 혼란요인을 관리하기 위하여 혼란 지역에 신속히 군사력을 투사하는 점의 전략을 구사하고 있다. 현재 미국의 GPR은 이러한 미국의 점의 전략을 반영하여 해외주둔 미군을 재배치하고, 기지를 조정하고 있는 것인데, 한국은 이에 따라 미국의 개입형 동맹 네트워크에 편입되게 될 것으로 보인다.

본 논문은 국제정치에 있어서 말과 상징을 이용한 권력, 즉 연성권력(soft-power)의 작동 메커니즘을 이론화하는 기초적 시도이다. 국제정치에 있어서 연성권력은 개념만이 존재해 왔을 뿐, 정교한 이론화 작업이 빈약하였는데, 이 논문은 (1) 상황변화 가속화의 가설, (2) 네트워크 효과의 가설, (3) 정체성 구분과 이미지 조작의 가설, (4)신뢰성의 영향력 가설이라는 네 가지의 기초적 가설을 통하여 국제정치에 있어서 연성권력의 이론화를 모색하였다.

본 연구에서는 북한이 체제전환 과정에서 어떤 경제정책을 선택했을 때 추격성장에 성공할 수 있는지를 살펴보았다. 현상유지형 이행 시나리오에서는 통상적인 체제이행 정책만이시행되어 추격성장이 불가능한 반면, 중국식 시장사회주의로 이행하는 시나리오에서는 화교자본의 급속한 유입을 토대로 추격에 성공한 중국 복건성의 노동집약적 수출공업화 모델과저임금, 국제적 연결망, 우수한 IT인력을 이용한 인도의 IT서비스 수출 주도 전략을 고려할수 있다. 또한 남북한이 통합되어 북한 지역에 대한 투자가 확대되는 시나리오에서는 이 두가지 정책옵션 이외에도 풍부한 자원 수출로 얻은 자금을 이용하여 신에너지 산업을 선점하는 전략의 적용 가능성이 높은 것으로 평가되었다.

D-RAM 산업은 초기 Intel, Texas Instrument, Micron, IBM 등 미국 기업들에 의해 주도되었고, 80년 중반 이후 일본의 복합 대기업들이 진입하였고, 그 이후 삼성 등 한국의 재벌계가 90년 초반 진입하여 특허를 내기 시각하고 90년 대 중반에는 UMC, TSMC 등 대만 기업들의 특허가 나오기 시작한다. 본 연구에서는 여러 가지 특허 통계 지표를 통해 한국과 대만의 디램 산업 산업에서 선후발 기업간의 지식의 흐름과 이전 경로를 분석해 보았다.
