About the Lab
Professor Hai-ryong Yun's research lab focuses on chronic disease epidemiology and predictive modeling, with a strong emphasis on kidney disease, metabolic disorders, and cardiovascular risk factors. The lab investigates the long-term progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD), particularly in relation to coronary artery calcification, obesity, and metabolic health, using large-scale cohort studies. A key research direction involves developing machine learning models to predict clinical outcomes such as non-curative resection in early gastric cancer and incident chronic kidney disease.
