About the Lab

Professor Hye Jung Park's research lab specializes in immunology, respiratory medicine, and drug-induced adverse reactions, with a strong focus on the genetic and immunological mechanisms underlying severe cutaneous and pulmonary disorders. The lab investigates HLA associations in drug-induced reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, while also exploring the pathogenesis of asthma, airway hyperresponsiveness, and lung fibrosis in metabolic and environmental contexts. Recent work extends to the immunotoxicological effects of nanomaterials, particularly silica nanoparticles, in respiratory models. The lab integrates clinical data with preclinical murine models to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets for inflammatory and fibrotic lung diseases.
