About the Lab
Professor Hye Won Lee's research lab focuses on translational cancer biology and molecular hepatology, with a strong emphasis on understanding the tumor microenvironment and identifying novel therapeutic targets in treatment-resistant cancers. The lab investigates molecular mechanisms driving cancer progression, particularly in lung adenocarcinoma and breast cancer, using single-cell genomics and functional genomics approaches. Additionally, the lab explores antiviral strategies and host–pathogen interactions in chronic hepatitis B virus infection, aiming to overcome viral persistence and develop curative therapies. The integration of clinical insights with molecular and genetic studies defines the lab’s mission to improve patient outcomes through precision medicine.
