About the Lab
Professor Hyejin Kang's research lab focuses on the neurobiological mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric symptoms in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease, using neuroimaging techniques such as SPECT to map regional cerebral blood flow. The lab also investigates the functional brain networks involved in speech perception under challenging auditory conditions, employing advanced computational methods like persistent homology to analyze network topology. Additionally, the lab explores the structural and functional specificity of metabotropic glutamate receptors, combining computational modeling with biochemical assays to understand ligand selectivity and downstream signaling pathways.

15The aim of this study was to improve the fat stability in walnut ( Juglans regia L.) kernels using an edible coating treatment. Coating solutions were composed of soy protein isolate (SPI), carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and catechin (CT).
