About the Lab
Professor Hyosung Kim's research lab specializes in gastrointestinal and hematologic oncology, with a strong focus on molecular pathology, biomarker discovery, and prognostic modeling in gastric cancer and lymphomas. The lab investigates the role of viral markers such as Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA load, tumor suppressor and oncogene expression (e.g., p53, PTEN, RTKs), and molecular subtypes in guiding clinical decision-making. We investigated the value of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA load in unfractionated whole blood for the diagnosis and prognosis of EBV-associated lymphoma.
