About the Lab
Professor Hyun Woo Park's research lab focuses on the intersection of cellular metabolism, ion channel regulation, and disease pathogenesis, with a strong emphasis on cancer metabolism, epithelial ion transport, and hypertension-related signaling pathways. The lab investigates how dysregulated metabolic reprogramming and ion channel activity—particularly Kv2.1 and WNK4—contribute to cancer progression and systemic diseases like cystic fibrosis and hypertension. Using integrative approaches from molecular biology to translational physiology, the lab aims to uncover novel therapeutic targets in oncology and renal/cardiovascular disorders.
