About the Lab
Professor Jae-Hyung Jang's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on early disease detection, neurological repair, and viral oncology. The lab investigates volatile organic compound-based diagnostics for sepsis, explores the long-term consequences of critical illness such as post-sepsis frailty, and examines the role of viral biomarkers—particularly EBV and HPV—in nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal cancers. Additionally, the lab investigates regenerative strategies for spinal cord injury using neural stem cells and neurotrophic factors like GDNF.
