About the Lab
Professor Jahyun Bae's research lab focuses on metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, with a strong emphasis on diabetes mellitus and its complications. The lab investigates the impact of novel antidiabetic agents—particularly SGLT2 inhibitors and DPP-4 inhibitors—on renal and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, the lab explores molecular mechanisms underlying receptor tyrosine kinase signaling and the role of long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in metabolic and cardiovascular health. The research integrates clinical epidemiology, translational biochemistry, and evidence-based medicine to improve patient outcomes in chronic metabolic diseases.
