About the Lab
Professor Jeonghee Jeon's research lab specializes in mental health and psychosocial adaptation among North Korean refugee populations, with a focus on parenting stress, health behaviors, and family dynamics. The lab investigates factors influencing parenting efficacy, acculturation stress, and resilience, particularly among refugee mothers and fathers, using theoretical frameworks such as the Health Belief Model and hardiness theory. Research directions include developing and evaluating psychosocial intervention programs to enhance mental well-being and social integration. The lab also explores the role of social support, self-efficacy, and daily stressors in shaping health outcomes among adolescent and adult refugees.
