About the Lab

Professor Jeongwon Son's research lab focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying inflammatory diseases, cancer biology, and innate immune modulation. Key research directions include the role of signaling molecules such as TGF-β1, PGE2, and cAMP in rheumatoid arthritis and synovial inflammation; the development and characterization of bioactive polysaccharides like soluble beta-glucan for immune modulation; and the identification of protein biomarkers for early lung cancer detection. The lab also investigates cell cycle regulation and DNA damage response pathways, particularly involving p21 and GSK-3β in UV-induced stress responses.
