Professor Ji-Won Yu's research lab specializes in translational biomedical research with a focus on the intersection of environmental exposures, systemic diseases, and organ-specific pathologies, particularly in the kidney and nervous system. The lab investigates the long-term impacts of environmental factors—such as air pollution and blast exposure—on chronic diseases like glomerulonephritis and traumatic brain injury, while also exploring molecular mechanisms underlying renal and neurological disorders. A key direction involves developing advanced surgical technologies, including vision-based instrument tracking for robotic minimally invasive surgery, to improve clinical safety and precision.
