About the Lab

Professor Ji Young Kim's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research, integrating metabolomics, molecular biology, and clinical studies to understand metabolic and age-related diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and sarcopenia. The lab investigates molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic dysregulation and tissue degeneration, with a particular emphasis on microRNA regulation in aging and the development of novel therapeutic interventions, including nutraceuticals like nattokinase. Additionally, the lab explores advanced materials for biomedical applications, such as functionalized zinc-based electrodes for improved electrochemical performance in energy storage systems.
