About the Lab

Professor Jin-won Song's research lab specializes in viral ecology and zoonotic disease dynamics, with a primary focus on hantaviruses and paramyxoviruses circulating in small mammals, particularly shrews, rodents, and insectivores. The lab employs molecular virology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and phylogeographic analysis to investigate viral diversity, host associations, and the evolutionary mechanisms driving the emergence of hemorrhagic fever and respiratory syndromes in humans.
