About the Lab
Professor Jin-Woong Seo's research lab focuses on antimicrobial resistance, particularly the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and management of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) such as carbapenem-resistant *Acinetobacter baumannii* and *Corynebacterium striatum*. The lab investigates host-pathogen interactions, virulence mechanisms, and novel non-antibiotic strategies—including fecal microbiota transplantation—for decolonizing MDROs and improving clinical outcomes in critically ill patients. Their work also includes evaluating clinical guidelines and developing predictive models for candidemia and sepsis-related mortality in high-risk populations.
