Professor Joo Hyung Moon's research lab focuses on neuro-oncology, particularly glioblastoma (GBM) and rare intracranial tumors such as solitary fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma (SFT/HPC). The lab investigates surgical outcomes, metabolic reprogramming in GBM—especially fatty acid oxidation and its interaction with standard chemotherapy—and the tumor immune microenvironment, including T-cell exhaustion and response to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Their work integrates clinical outcomes with molecular and metabolic profiling to improve therapeutic strategies for primary brain tumors.
